The look

This is the default stare during Waybuloo.
We have an evening routine. Ruby has a bath, everyone gets soaked, Ruby puts on her dressing gown, comes downstairs and pees on the carpet before we can get a nappy on her. Then it’s time for Waybuloo, during which time she’s pliable enough to get her dried, dressed and prepared for bed.
It’s my favourite time of day as I normally give her her bath, although Jo’s having to do it at the moment while I’m indisposed.

Sat on the sofa, leg elevated, watching Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan.
I’ve not seen this for at least 20 years. It’s not aged well but it’s still a classic. Probably the best of the Star Trek films

Hospital beds are generally uncomfortable things. My comfort was not helped by having to sleep under a white sheet while wearing a leg splint.
I love to curl up into a ball when I sleep but I guess I won’t be doing that for a while.

Sunrise

So, today I have my anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Major ouchies all around I think.
I had to get to The Park Hospital by 7am so at least I got to see the sun rise. Lovely it was too. Another glorious day (which I mostly missed).
I’m typing this quite a long way after the event, so don’t worry about by knee. The surgery went well, and although I’ve been off work for four weeks my leg is doing very well indeed.

This is what happens when my daughter’s friends come to visit. Our little garden is visited by many toys.
They had a lot of fun and I’m glad that our garden is just about big enough to have four or five toddlers running around causing chaos.
